Description

Three-Month Subscription to MPI’s Distribution & Logistics Benchmarking Toolkit

The MPI Distribution & Logistics Benchmarking Toolkit allows executives to benchmark their facility performance data against hundreds of other warehouses and distribution centers from across the United States to make industry-specific performance comparisons—using a convenient, cloud-based resource to compare and share insights.

Toolkit features include:

  • Sort by industry.
  • Filter data using criteria from the study (e.g., by warehouse/distribution center characteristics, performance level, etc.).
  • Create and export customized performance reports (Excel and PDF).
  • Create charts with a single click for inclusion in reports and other documents.

Benchmarks are drawn from the MPI Distribution and Logistics Study, which collects detailed performance metrics and best practices within warehouses and distribution centers. This facility-specific study offers critical information to distribution, logistics, and supply-chain executives to keep their centers and companies competitive.

  • Data from MPI’s Distribution & Logistics Study includes responses from 224 U.S.-based distribution and logistics executives.
  • Data includes all anonymous data gathered in 2017.

The study examines:

  • Operations: practices/programs in place (e.g., lean thinking); services performed for customers (e.g., kitting); expenses; and critical performance measures (perfect order fulfilment, lines picked per hour, warehouse capacity utilization, etc.).
  • Supply Chain and Logistics: number of suppliers and customers associated with typical facilities; percentages of imported supplier goods and products exported; and criteria used to evaluate suppliers.
  • Human Resources: number of employees; allocation of employees by role; use of temporary workers; deployment of human-resources (HR) programs; and key HR performance measures.
  • Assets and Technology: investments by facilities; types of information technology systems and applications in use; cloud computing usage; and adoption of Internet of Things technologies.
